USDOT/FAA Award Grant Funding for Local Airports
September 25th, 2006The Federal Aviation Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, recently awarded more than $500,000 in grant funding for airport improvements in the 14 th congressional district of Texas. The funding will be disbursed by the Texas Department of Transportation.
Congressman Paul worked with both his colleagues on the House Committee on Transportation and FAA officials to make them aware of the need for improvements at three south Texas airports.
The three grants are as follows:
$145,000 for improvements at Aransas County Airport;
$159,111 for improvements at Palacios Municipal Airport; and
$202,000 for engineering and design work at Scholes International Airport in Galveston.
