Ron Paul announces toll-free “Legislative Update” line
February 27th, 1997WASHINGTON, DC – Constituents in the 14 th District, calling from anywhere around the nation, can now get a toll-free update of legislative activity and information on issues critical to the nation. The “Ron Paul Legislative Update” line, sponsored by the Office of US Representative Ron Paul (R-Surfside, TX), can be accessed by calling toll-free (888) 322-1414.
The (888) toll-free exchange was established last year after all the (800) numbers were exhausted.
“I’m very pleased to offer this special service to my friends and constituents in the 14 th District,” said Paul. “Each week, I will leave a new message, that can be heard 24-hours a day, on a subject or issue facing the Congress. This will give constituents yet one more way to stay as current as possible on events occurring in Washington which affect them.”
The Ron Paul Legislative Update joins Congressman Paul’s other high-tech, direct service programs designed to give constituents direct access to information, news and services. Those other services include the Freedom Watch Update fax and email lists, and “Project FREEDOM: The Official Web Site of US Representative Ron Paul” (http://www.house.gov/paul/). To join the fax service, individuals should call (202) 225-2831 and leave their name, fax number and home address. To sign-up for the email service, individuals can send an email to: freedom.watch@mail.house.gov, and should include their physical address in the message.
The toll-free number is only a recorded outgoing message from Representative Paul, and callers will not be able to leave a message or transfer to a staff member. Anyone needing to reach the Washington congressional office should call (202) 225-2831. The district congressional offices can be reached at: Brazoria County, (409) 230-0000; Victoria region, (512) 576-1231; Hays County region, (512) 396-1400.
A new Ron Paul Legislative Update message will be available no later than early Monday morning of each week.
